1. NMC Introduces Face-Based Aadhaar Attendance System in All Medical Colleges from May 1, 2025

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has mandated that from May 1, 2025, all medical colleges in India must shift to a Face-Based Aadhaar Attendance System (AEBAS) for faculty and staff. Replacing fingerprint-based systems, this new method uses facial recognition via a mobile app for more accurate and user-friendly attendance marking. Colleges must submit GPS coordinates for geofenced attendance zones by April 20, install the app by April 24, and address any issues before April 30. From May 1, only face authentication will be valid for marking attendance.

2.Government Bans 35 Unapproved Combination Drugs: What Doctors Need to Know

The CDSCO has banned the manufacture and sale of 35 unapproved Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs across India, citing violations of the NDCT Rules, 2019 and risks to public health. These include widely used antidiabetics, antibiotics, painkillers, and multivitamins that were marketed without proper safety and efficacy evaluations. State and UT Drug Controllers have been instructed to cancel licenses, investigate violations, and ensure strict compliance. Doctors are advised to stop prescribing these FDCs and switch to approved alternatives to ensure patient safety.

Subject in Focus

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬

Getting admitted to a hospital in India is often faster than getting discharged.
Sounds familiar?

Patients wait hours—even a full day—for final bills, approvals, and paperwork. It’s frustrating for families, exhausting for staff, and costly for hospitals.

❓ Why does this happen?

  • Poor coordination between departments
  • Manual paperwork and slow approvals
  • No real-time updates for patients
  • No dedicated discharge coordinators

💥 The result?

  • Bed shortages due to slow turnover
  • Unhappy patients
  • Overworked staff
  • Delayed payments and system backlogs

✅ What’s the fix?

Hospitals need a smarter discharge process:

🔹 Inform patients early about discharge steps
🔹 Use digital tools to track and coordinate
🔹 Sync billing, pharmacy, and doctor clearance
🔹 Make patients wait minutes—not hours

👉 Going home should feel like healing is complete, not like a new struggle has begun.

The Doctorpreneur Academy:
Quote from Legends in medicine and entrepreneurship

Brief:

This book is all about the real-life struggles of running a business, especially as a startup Zero to One by Peter Thiel is a book about creating new, innovative businesses that go from nothing to something extraordinary, instead of copying what others have already done. Thiel, a co-founder of PayPal, shares his insights on how to build unique companies that stand out in the world, rather than following trends.

He argues that true progress comes from doing something completely new—going from zero to one—not just improving on existing ideas (going from one to n). Thiel emphasizes the importance of monopolies (companies with no competition) in the tech world and encourages entrepreneurs to think big and create products or services that solve real problems in a unique way. He also discusses the importance of a strong team and vision to succeed in the competitive world of startups.
